GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations. 

We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation. 

Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Engineer Process Control and Automation will provide specialist engineering and technical support across Process Control and Automation (PCA) and Operational Technology (OT) systems at Tahmoor Mine. 

In this role, you will support the design, implementation, commissioning, governance and ongoing reliability of control systems and OT infrastructure that underpin safe and efficient mining operations. You will work closely with site teams, IT, contractors and project stakeholders to deliver practical technical solutions, improve system performance and support the recommencement of operations at Tahmoor Mine. 

This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities. 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: 

• Provide specialist PCA and OT engineering support across control system hardware, firmware, software and supporting infrastructure. 

• Lead and support the design, review, commissioning and integration of operational and capital projects. 

• Prepare and maintain functional specifications, system design specifications, test specifications, manuals and maintenance records. 

• Collaborate with site operations, engineering, maintenance and IT teams to identify requirements and deliver effective PCA solutions. 

• Support the reliability, security and performance of Operational Technology systems required for mine operations. 

• Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors and stakeholders across project and operational activities. 

ABOUT YOU 

You are a collaborative, solutions-focused engineer with strong experience in Process Control, Automation and Operational Technology. You are comfortable working in complex operational environments, balancing technical detail with practical site outcomes, and supporting safe, reliable and efficient mine operations. 

What you’ll bring: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation or a related discipline. 

• Experience in process control, automation, SCADA and industrial control systems, ideally within mining, heavy industry or a similarly complex operational environment. 

• Knowledge of RSLogix 5000 and Aveva Plant SCADA systems, with Functional Safety Engineer certification highly regarded. 

• Strong capability in technical documentation, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning and handover of PCA and OT systems. 

• A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, engineering, IT, vendors and contractors. 

• Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on safe, reliable and efficient operational outcomes.
