Be a Part of The Scoop's Team – Volunteer Performing Arts Writers Wanted!
Are you a passionate theatre enthusiast with a flair for writing? We're on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteer contributing writers based on the Gold Coast to join the team at The Scoop.
As a volunteer writer for The Scoop, you'll have the opportunity to attend various theatre productions while honing your skills and building your portfolio. You'll get to share your love for theatre with our growing community of readers.
We're searching for talented individuals who are eager to gain valuable experience in the industry and establish connections within the performing arts world. If you're looking for hands-on experience in writing, or you are simply a passionate theatre fan wanting to share your love for the stage, we'd love to hear from you!
Our ideal candidate would be a Journalism graduate or soon-to-be graduate. Excellent communication skills and quick responses to communication are essential.

As a volunteer contributing writer, you'll be an essential part of our team, creating engaging reviews and helping us continue to showcase the incredible stories that make the performing arts so special.
While these positions are unpaid, the experience and networking opportunities will benefit those who love the arts, and those who are seeking a career in journalism.
We are only looking for writers who do not use AI to generate copy. (This includes application letters.) We are seeking people who genuinely love and care about the human-written word.
Contributors to The Scoop can expect:
1. Two tickets to major performing arts shows being reviewed2. Exposure to key companies in the performing arts scene3. Attending the occasional Media Call to gain promotional footage and interviews for big musicals
