Service Manager – Air Conditioning Repairs & Servicing

About the role

Based in the Lonsdale office, you'll take full ownership of day-to-day service operations — scheduling technicians, managing breakdown response, and ensuring every job is completed, reported, and closed out to a high standard.

You'll be coordinating a team of qualified technicians and apprentices, shared with the install/sales division — on any given day you'll typically be allocating 2 field staff to breakdown and general service work, so strong prioritisation and scheduling judgement is essential.

The Service Manager will be key in leading, mentoring and managing the team of service technicians, supporting their training and development.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch technicians for breakdown callouts and planned service work maximising efficiency and turnaround times

• Prioritise urgent breakdown jobs against scheduled service work in real time

• Review technician job reports following every breakdown visit, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up

• Oversee quality control on all service and installation work, ensuring a consistently high technical standard

• Complete job reports ready for invoicing, including all labour and materials, along with quotes for any extra work

• Help mentor and develop technicians and apprentices in the field

• Facilitate and optimise service KPIs

• Manage supplier relationships and parts availability for service work

• Handle customer escalations and resolve service complaints directly

• Ensure WHS and industry compliance across all service work

About you

• Relevant Air Conditioning breakdown and servicing experience, residential and/or commercial

• Valid driver's licence

• Competent using job management software

• Demonstrated experience scheduling or coordinating field technicians, or clear readiness to step up into this from a senior technician role
