Qualified Pastry Chef – Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Pastry Chef to join our growing, family-owned hospitality group in Yarraville.

This is a varied and exciting opportunity to work across three established businesses:

• Eleni’s Kitchen & Bar – creating traditional Greek desserts and preparing and plating desserts during restaurant service
• Jimmy’s Deli – producing fresh pastries, cakes and desserts
• Cakes by Thierry – creating celebration cakes and custom cake orders

We are also opening a new production kitchen within the next two to three months. The successful candidate will play an important role in its operation and will be trusted to work independently, manage production and complete daily preparation to a consistently high standard.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing traditional Greek desserts, pastries, cakes and other baked products
• Producing custom cakes and celebration orders to customer specifications
• Following established recipes, portioning and presentation standards
• Contributing your own knowledge, creativity and pastry expertise
• Completing high-volume preparation accurately and efficiently
• Preparing and plating dessert dishes during service at Eleni’s Kitchen & Bar on Friday and Saturday evenings
• Working independently in our new production kitchen
• Managing daily preparation lists, stock rotation and ingredient requirements
• Maintaining excellent food-safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
• Ensuring every product is consistent in flavour, appearance and quality
• Helping develop new desserts, pastries and seasonal products

About you

To be successful, you will need:

• A recognised qualification in patisserie, baking, pastry or commercial cookery
• Proven professional experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker or Cake Decorator
• Strong pastry, cake-production and decorating skills
• The ability to accurately follow recipes and production specifications
• Experience managing preparation and production independently
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills
• Confidence working in a busy, high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
• Availability to work Friday and Saturday evenings
• A reliable, positive and professional attitude
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience creating traditional Greek or Mediterranean desserts would be highly regarded, but it is not essential if you have strong pastry fundamentals and are eager to learn.
