Are you a hospitality professional with a passion for exceptional service and a background in premium dining, luxury motels, or high-end hotels?

The Palms is one of the Murray River region's fastest-growing hospitality venues, combining a busy hotel, bar, restaurant, beer garden and motel. We're seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Venue Manager to join our team and elevate the guest experience across every aspect of the venue.

Reporting directly to the General Manager & Licensee, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring exceptional service standards, supporting our team on the floor by leading by example, and providing operational leadership when required.

About the Role

This is a hands-on hospitality position suited to someone who thrives in service, enjoys engaging with guests, and takes pride in creating memorable experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering exceptional guest service and hospitality

Improving our overall high standards of service across the venue

Supervising service periods and supporting the team on the floor

Opening and closing the venue

Managing guest enquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and care

Cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation

Ensuring RSA, RCG and hotel compliance standards are maintained

Assisting with venue presentation, promotions and operational standards

Supporting the General Manager in the daily operation of the hotel

Acting as venue lead in the absence of the General Manager when required

About You

We're looking for a hospitality professional who leads by example and genuinely enjoys being part of an exemplary guest experience.    

Essential:

✔ Experience premium hospitality, hotels, clubs, or high-end venues

✔ Exceptional customer service and communication skills

✔ Experience working in fast-paced hospitality environments

✔ Professional presentation and attention to detail

✔ Available to work days, nights and weekends

✔ Ability to work throughout busy summer and holiday periods

Highly Regarded:

✔ Experience overseeing service periods and coordinating front-of-house teams

✔ Cellar, wine, cocktail or beverage knowledge

✔ Previous exceptional care and/or supervisory experience
