Lead the delivery of fleet services that support essential operations across Noosa Council. In this leadership role, you'll oversee the strategic and operational management of Council’s fleet, plant and heavy equipment assets, ensuring they are safe, reliable, financially sustainable and fit for purpose. You'll play a key role in driving service excellence, asset performance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
You're an experienced fleet or asset management professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering practical, efficient solutions. You thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic planning with operational outcomes while building productive relationships across the organisation. With sound commercial acumen and a customer-focused approach, you're committed to safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.
• Lead the Fleet Branch and support a high-performing team culture focused on safety, service and continuous improvement
• Manage Council’s fleet and plant assets, including maintenance programs, replacement planning, acquisitions and disposals
• Develop and manage fleet budgets, internal plant hire rates and contract arrangements to ensure value-for-money outcomes
• Provide specialist fleet advice and partner with stakeholders to optimise fleet performance, sustainability and service delivery
• Extensive experience managing vehicle, plant and heavy equipment fleets in a medium-to-large operational environment
• Demonstrated experience in fleet asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning and replacement programs
• Experience managing operational and capital budgets and delivering financially sustainable outcomes
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and foster a positive workplace culture
• Well-developed planning, organisational and project management capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities
• Experience leading business improvement, change management or operational efficiency initiatives
• Relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated experience in Fleet Asset Management, Heavy Plant Asset Management and/or Mechanical Workshop Operations
• Current Queensland C Class driver licence
• Formal qualifications in Fleet Management (desirable)
• Qualifications in Finance, Asset Management or a related discipline (desirable)
• Project Management qualifications (desirable)
