About Carers WA:
Carers WA is the peak body representing the needs and interests of carers in Western Australia and is part of a national network of Carers Associations providing a range of support services, supporting Carers across Western Australia. Carers provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have disability, mental health challenges, a chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue or who are frail aged.

About the Role:
As the First Nations Wellbeing and Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in improving access, inclusion, and wellbeing outcomes for First Nations carers.
You will build strong partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to reduce barriers to accessing the Carer Gateway, promote services within Aboriginal communities, and support carers through the Carer Support Planning process.
Strong organisational, communication and time management skills are essential to effectively balance community outreach and case coordination with administrative responsibilities.
The role may involve engaging in challenging conversations, requiring strong communication skills, cultural awareness, empathy, and resilience.
You will also contribute to Carers WA's Community and Cultural Working Group, helping to guide culturally informed engagement and service delivery across the organisation.
