Senior Payroll Officer - SCHADS experience!

Living My Way is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. 

Reporting to the Executive Manager Finance & ICT, you'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll, ensuring accurate and timely pay runs and compliance with the SCHADS Award, STP and relevant payroll legislation. 

This is a hands-on senior role offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact while supporting payroll processes, projects and continuous improvement.

About the role 

You'll be responsible for: 

• Owning and processing end-to-end payroll, including Support Worker, staff and Directors' pay runs.

• Applying the SCHADS Award accurately across each pay run.

• Processing leave, long service leave and termination payments.

• Managing STP, PAYG, superannuation and other payroll compliance requirements.

• Preparing Portable Long Service Leave lodgements and assisting with FBT requirements.

• Responding to payroll enquiries and supporting employees, managers and key stakeholders.

• Providing payroll reporting and reconciliations to support Finance.

• Supporting the Payroll Officer and contributing to payroll projects and process improvements.

About You

You are an experienced payroll professional who takes ownership, works accurately under pressure and is confident navigating complex payroll requirements.

You will bring:

•         4+ years' payroll experience, including end-to-end payroll processing.

•         1+ year of experience interpreting and applying the SCHADS Award in a payroll environment.

•         Experience with Single Touch Payroll (STP).

•         Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.

•         Strong Excel and payroll systems experience.

•         Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

•         Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

•         Permanent work rights in Australia.

•         A current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain them.

Desirable: Experience in the disability or not-for-profit sector, and knowledge of FBT, Workers Compensation, Portable LSL and systems such as MYOB, Deputy or KeyPay.
