Looking for a payroll role where your expertise is valued and your work has real impact?
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate, end-to-end payroll while contributing to a collaborative team that values accuracy, continuous improvement and exceptional service.
This is a part time, 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, subject to organisational requirements.
Why Join Us?
At Living My Way, you'll be part of a welcoming, values-driven organisation committed to empowering people with disability to live independently. We believe our people are key to our success, which is why we invest in their wellbeing, development and work-life balance.
We offer:
Competitive salary package
Hybrid working arrangements to support flexibility and work-life balance
Flex Days, purchased leave and annual leave loading
Not-for-profit salary packaging to help maximise your take-home pay
Ongoing learning, development and career growth opportunities
A collaborative and supportive team where your contribution is valued
The opportunity to make a genuine difference in a purpose-driven organisation
Free on-site parking at our Menai Head Office
A strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and employee well-being
About the role
As Payroll Officer, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of payroll services across Living My Way, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, employees are supported, and legislative and award obligations are met.
In addition to payroll, you'll work closely with the wider Finance team to assist with reconciliations and transactional processing during peak periods and leave coverage. This variety makes the role an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience while contributing to the success of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll accurately and on time.
Maintain employee payroll records, including commencements, variations, leave and terminations.
Interpret and apply the SCHADS Award, National Employment Standards (NES) and relevant payroll legislation.
Process superannuation, PAYG and other statutory payroll obligations.
Respond to payroll enquiries and provide timely, professional support to employees and internal stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You're an organised payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys building positive relationships and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
You will also bring:
Experience processing end-to-end payroll (ideally 1–2 years or more).
Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and the National Employment Standards (NES).
Strong award interpretation skills, with SCHADS Award experience highly regarded.
Experience using payroll systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Permanent work rights in Australia.
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain them.
You'll stand out if you also have:
Experience in the disability, community services or not-for-profit sector.
Exposure to finance processes, including reconciliations or transactional processing.
A passion for improving processes and delivering an exceptional employee experience.
