Starting from humble beginnings as a small bootcamp in Surry Hills, today we are a national brand on a mission to “Inspire Change” in the global fitness industry.

In March 2023, Fitness Playground became One Playground, representing our move beyond fitness and aesthetics to become an all-encompassing playground for health and fitness.

Relationships sit at the heart of that mission. Our Relationship Managers are the first face a prospective member meets and the person our members turn to throughout their journey with us, turning enquiries into members, and members into lifelong advocates.

THE ROLE

We are expanding rapidly, with 5 new club openings scheduled across the next 12 months, creating a rare chance to grow your career within a thriving, fast-paced organisation.

Our Relationship Managers are the front line of the member experience, the first person a prospective member meets, and the person our members turn to throughout their time with us. It’s a role built on genuine connection, not just transactions.

As a Relationship Manager, you’ll own the full member journey: helping enquiries become members, integrating them into the One Playground community, and building the kind of relationships that turn a gym membership into a genuine part of someone’s life.

This is where your career in membership and sales begins. Every one of our Club Managers and senior leaders started on the front line, and the Relationship Manager pathway is designed to take you from mastering the fundamentals through to leading and mentoring your own team.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Experience.

• Own the member journey from first hello to lifelong loyalty, recommending the right classes, coaching and community to set every member up for success.

• Turn tough moments into trust, handling complaints, concerns and cancellations in a way that leaves members feeling genuinely looked after.

• Build relationships with members and teammates that make people want to stay part of the One Playground community for years to come.

Sales & Growth

• Be the reason someone becomes a member, guiding enquiries through a sales experience that feels personal, not pushy.

• Set every new member up to thrive, connecting them into personal training, group training and the wider club community from day one.

• Grow your club’s reach through direct marketing, corporate partnerships and lead activations that keep new opportunities flowing.

Performance & Collaboration.

• Achieve your monthly personal targets for new members starting, upselling and cross-selling to endless experiences across the entire product offering.

• Work alongside the Personal Training team to help them achieve their client targets.

• Drive members’ usage of group training classes, workshops and events.

Culture & Standards.

• Represent the company’s values and standards in everything you do.

• Contribute to a culture of support, accountability and continuous improvement within your team.

ABOUT YOU

• You genuinely love people, and it shows in how you connect with everyone you meet, member or teammate.

• You’re a natural communicator who builds trust and rapport quickly, whether it’s your first conversation with a new enquiry or your hundredth with a long-standing member.

• You’re motivated by targets, not intimidated by them, and you love the feeling of hitting a goal.

• You’re resilient and adaptable, comfortable managing a wide variety of conversations and situations in a single day.

• You have a genuine interest in health, fitness and wellness; this is a career, not just a job.

• You’re ambitious about your own growth and excited by a defined pathway to progress.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• No prior sales or fitness industry experience required; a passion for people and a strong work ethic matter more to us than your resume.

• Experience in sales, customer service, hospitality or another member/customer-facing role is highly regarded.

• Confidence having a wide range of conversations with a wide range of people, including the difficult ones.

• Comfortable working towards targets, KPIs and performance data.
