Occupational Therapist

About the role

This is a unique OT opportunity. You will work within an innovative, integrated allied health team delivering therapeutic supports to NDIS participants with psychosocial disability, neurodevelopmental conditions and complex needs. You will use leading-edge VR biofeedback technology as a clinical tool alongside traditional OT practice and you will have the opportunity to build a caseload from the ground up in a supportive, purpose-built environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional capacity assessments (FCAs) for NDIS participants to establish baseline function and justify support needs

• Deliver clinician-guided VR biofeedback regulation sessions as Therapeutic Supports — targeting emotional regulation, sensory processing and daily living capacity

• Design and implement individualised therapeutic programs aligned to each participant's NDIS goals

• Deliver sensory processing and integration programs, particularly for participants with ASD, ADHD and psychosocial disability

• Complete assistive technology assessments and recommendations, including for Healium VR headset home use programs

• Provide group-based therapeutic programs and community wellbeing sessions at the hub

• Conduct home visits and community-based sessions where clinically appropriate

• Write functional capacity assessment reports using clear, NDIS-aligned functional outcome language

• Maintain thorough clinical notes compliant with AHPRA standards after each session

• Produce NDIS progress reports aligned to participant plan goals for plan review

About you

• Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy from a recognised Australian university

• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist — no conditions or restrictions

• Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in community, disability or mental health OT

• Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS framework

• Experience conducting and writing functional capacity assessments

• Strong written communication skills — ability to write clear, functional, NDIS-aligned reports

• Genuine commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred practice

• Current Working with Vulnerable People check (or willingness to obtain)

• Current National Police Clearance

• Experience with sensory processing, sensory integration or neurodevelopmental presentations (ASD, ADHD) — highly desirable
