Quarry Operations Supervisor

About the role

As Quarry Operations Supervisor, you will be the key on-ground person overseeing the daily operation of the quarry. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being out on site, working alongside a small team and making sure the quarry runs safely, efficiently and productively. You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the quarry while also getting on the machines and assisting with production.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinating and supervising day-to-day quarry operations

• Leading and supporting the quarry and plant operating team

• Allocating daily tasks and ensuring production targets are met

• Operating mobile plant

• Overseeing crushing, screening, stockpiling and loading operations

• Monitoring production, product quality and stockpiles

• Coordinating truck movements and customer loading

• Conducting and overseeing daily pre-starts and site inspections

• Identifying equipment issues and coordinating maintenance requirements

• Ensuring site procedures, safety requirements and environmental standards are followed

About you

• Previous experience in quarrying, mining, civil construction or earthmoving

• Experience operating heavy mobile plant

• Strong knowledge of quarry production and crushing/screening operations

• Previous supervisory or leading-hand experience

• The ability to confidently coordinate people, plant and production

• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety

• Good communication and organisational skills

• The ability to problem-solve and make decisions on the ground

• A current Australian driver's licence
