About the venue

Haymarket Hotel sits right in the heart of Chinatown, next to the light rail and a short walk from Central. We’re one of the busier pubs in the area, known for our big screens that pull in big crowds for the footy and major sports, a strong food and beverage trade, and a popular gaming room. The energy is fast paced, the venue has real character, and there’s never a dull shift.

About the role

This is a Cellar and Bar position, with cellar duties and deliveries forming a necessary and core part of every shift. It’s not an add on. If you’re not up for the cellar side, this isn’t the role for you.

You’ll be receiving deliveries (often heavy and high volume), rotating and storing stock, changing kegs, and making sure the bar is fully set up and never runs short during service. It’s physical work that takes you up and down stairs throughout the shift, so you’ll need to be fit, capable, and happy to move.

On the bar you’ll be pouring beers, making drinks,running food, and looking after customers through the rushes that come thick and fast across the week. Sport days, payday Fridays, and weekend trade are all proper busy. You’ll need to think on your feet and enjoy the pressure of a full bar.

Hours

Plenty of hours on offer. We’re after someone who can commit to consistent shifts across days, nights, and weekends. If you want regular, reliable work, it’s here for the taking.

What you need

RSA and RCG are essential. Full working rights in Australia, no exceptions. Strong availability, a solid work ethic, and the kind of attitude that fits in a busy, fast moving team. Previous cellar or bar experience is a bonus, but we’ll take the right person and train them up.
