About the role – Internal EOI

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated internal Registered Nurse to undertake an 3 month leave relief position as Clinical Nurse Ophthalmology at Mater Private Hospital Mackay.

3 month temporary acting opportunity in early September (Finish date to be confirmed.)

The Ophthalmology Clinic provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with eye conditions.

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you'll be doing

• Collaborate and lead clinical teams to optimise patient flow and health outcomes to achieve clinical excellence
• Provide clinical leadership for the ophthalmology nursing team
• Provide education for staff to develop expertise and alignment with clinical care standards
• Collaborate and liaise with multi-disciplinary teams internally and external to ensure optimal patient outcomes promoting best practice
• Collaborate with the team to align practice with department and organisational business and strategic goals
• Implement and lead service improvement activities within the specialty

About you

• Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions) with 3+ years’ experience working within an ophthalmology service
• Clinical expertise in Ophthalmology nursing and using ophthalmology assessment equipment
• Post graduate qualification in Ophthalmology highly regarded
• High level communication skills
