About the role
We are seeking passionate Domestic Violence Specialists to make a profound difference in the lives of those impacted by domestic violence. As we continue to enhance our services, we are seeking highly capable and compassionate advocates who thrive in crisis environments and are driven to provide exceptional care to women experiencing immediate risk.
We welcome applications from both emerging practitioners and experienced specialists (minimum four years’ experience as a Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) worker). Successful candidates will be skilled in supporting women through crisis and providing an individualised response to domestic violence risk, safety, and wellbeing.
DVPC celebrates diversity and is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace. We encourage females from all backgrounds and identities to apply.
The Women’s Advocate role provides frontline support to women experiencing domestic and family violence, with a strong focus on crisis intervention and safety planning. The role involves assessing risk, responding quickly to immediate safety needs, and delivering tailored support that empowers women to navigate high‑risk situations. This includes crisis support, safety planning, assertive advocacy with key services, case management, psychosocial education, information provision, and referrals to specialist supports.
This is a full-time (38 hrs/week) role.
Successful applicants will be offered a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension or permanency.
The Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (DVPC) is a specialist service which supports women, children and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence. We also deliver the Men's DV Education and Intervention program and convene an Integrated Response group that works with agencies on the Gold Coast to improve collaboration and responses to victim survivors of domestic and family violence to enhance their safety and wellbeing.
DVPC is committed to working towards a world in which all women, children and young people can exercise their rights to live free from violence and make informed choices about their relationships.
Position descriptions (Emergent & Experienced) are attached.
