Medical/Dental Receptionist

We are seeking an experienced part-time Medical/Dental Receptionist for a busy Specialist Practice located in our Burwood rooms.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (4 days) 9.00 am to 4.30pm (times can vary) with half day Saturdays once a month. Immediate start. Experience in medical/dental practice and attention to detail is essential.  Must have typing, computer and interpersonal skills.

Daily duties include:

·         Greet patients in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.

·         Answer and manage incoming calls

·         Schedule and confirm patient appointments; operation bookings and issue associated documentation

·         Data processing

·         Patient invoicing and payments including Medicare, DVA and Defence transmissions    

·         Reconciling EFTPOS and banking

·         Dictation typing of reports and medical correspondence

·         Accounts payable

·         General office administration duties

 Skills and Experience:

·         2 years minimum medical and/or dental reception experience

·         Experience using blue chip/medical director software or equivalent software

·         Typing essential (50 wpm)

·         Excellent telephone manner

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Professional customer service skills

·         Ability to be empathetic to patients

·         Self-motivated, reliable and trustworthy

·         Warm and friendly personality, with the ability to remain calm and polite in stressful situations

·         Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
