Disability Support Worker

About the Role

Join our Deception Bay team supporting people with disability within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) service. We are recruiting Casual Disability Support Workers to provide person-centred support with daily living activities, health-related supports and community participation. This role involves supporting customers with complex behaviours, implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and assisting with mobility equipment.

Predominantly sleepover shifts are available, and candidates must be available to complete a minimum of three sleepovers per week. 

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing personal care and daily living support

• Administering medication and monitoring health needs

• Supporting social and community participation activities 

• Assisting with domestic tasks and meal preparation 

• Completing required documentation and records

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting people with complex behaviours (Required)

• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans (Required) 

• Experience supporting customers with emotional and mental health needs (Required) 

• Experience using mobility aids and manual handling equipment, including hoists (Required) 

• Minimum 3 months of support work experience or a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) 

Required Licences 

• Current Driver Licence (P2 minimum) 

• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate 

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card) 

• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) 

• Valid Australian working rights
