 About the role

 Reporting to the GM – Manufacturing and Supply Chain, this role is responsible for leading all production activities within a high-volume, high-SKU manufacturing environment. This role oversees a large production workforce and is accountable for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations whilst maintaining product quality and delivery performance.

The successful candidate will drive operational excellence through effective planning, resource management, continuous improvement initiatives, and strong leadership of production teams. The role requires close collaboration with Supply Chain, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer Service functions to ensure production schedules are achieved and business objectives are met.

Initially a 12-month contract role with potential for extension /permanent employment in the longer term. 

This role will be responsible for:

 Production Leadership

·         Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations across multiple production lines and product categories of precision parts.

·         Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality, safety and efficiency standards.

·         Monitor and improve labour productivity, equipment utilisation, and manufacturing performance metrics.

• Develop workforce capability through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.

Planning and Operational Execution

·         Coordinate production activities to support customer demand and inventory requirements.

·         Work closely with Supply Chain and Planning teams to optimise production schedules.

·         Manage production bottlenecks, labour allocation, and capacity constraints

·         Ensure accurate reporting of production performance and operational KPIs.

·         Assist other personnel involved in the development of new / improved manufacturing methods and tooling as an aid towards increased efficiency and productivity

 Systems and Reporting

·         Utilise the ERP/MIS systems to manage production, inventory transactions, reporting, and operational performance.

·         Ensure data integrity and disciplined use of manufacturing systems.

·         Generate and analyse production reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.

 The ideal candidate will: 

 ·         Proven experience managing a large production team (eg:>30), manufacturing a diverse product portfolio for minimum of 5 years

·         Ideally will have solid engineering  based background

·         Implementation of productive processes and improvement initiatives.

·         Data capture, analysis, and translation to improvements via a modern ERP system (Pronto experience highly regarded).

·         Experience in translating new products to production.

·         Ability to meet production deadlines.

·         Working with and implementation of LEAN Manufacturing principles.
