Switchboard Designer

About the Role

We are seeking skilled and experienced Switchboard Designer, to perform complex design assignments on switchboards, review and incorporate technical specifications and relevant standards and support the Lead Switchboard Designer and Switch room Electrical Engineer in delivery of projects.

Duties

• Create and modify CAD designs for switchboards, control panels, and related systems in line with specifications and standards.

• Support development and continuous improvement of modular design practices and internal design processes.

• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and operations to enhance efficiency in design, materials, and construction methods.

• Liaise with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, ensure accurate designs, and support project delivery.

• Review designs, assist with documentation (BOQs, reports, layouts), and support inspections, supplier coordination, and technical queries.

Skills & Experience

• Must be able to read Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Three-line Diagrams, Block Diagrams and Termination Diagrams

• Must have skillset in AutoCAD software 

• Must have sound understanding of AS61439 and AS3000

• Degree or trade qualifications in Switchboard design or electrical engineering discipline.

• 1 year project engineering experience or 3 years switchboard designer/assembler experience.
