About the role
Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users.
Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market.
About the role
The Box Gum Woodland (BGW) Local Area Management Plan (LAMP) is a flagship restoration program focused on one of NSW's most endangered ecological communities. Delivered in partnership with Transgrid, DCCEEW and Yass Area Network of Landcare Groups, it aims to improve the extent, condition and connectivity of Box Gum Woodland across the Southern Tablelands.
This is a unique opportunity for a Conservation Project Officer to contribute to a community-led initiative on a 2 year fixed-term basis. You will work across stakeholder engagement, strategy and on-ground delivery to drive lasting conservation outcomes at landscape scale. In addition, you will develop an evidence-based LAMP using ecological, spatial and stakeholder inputs, engage landholders, Landcare, Aboriginal communities and partner agencies, and support project coordination to deliver landscape-scale restoration outcomes.
About you
You will have strong communication skills and experience preparing technical reports, management plans and stakeholder communications. You will also support stakeholder engagement including facilitating community meetings, workshops and engagement activities.
Applicants must be willing to undertake travel within NSW, including overnight stays.
