About the role

Jimmy and Gina's Kitchen is seeking a talented and passionate Cook to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Dubbo NSW 2830, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality kitchen environment where culinary excellence and customer satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional dining experiences to our valued guests. Your contribution will directly impact the reputation and success of our establishment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards

• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and portion control

• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling procedures

• Manage your station efficiently, including proper organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen workspace

• Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of dishes

• Monitor stock levels and communicate with management regarding ingredient requirements

• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those relating to food preparation and kitchen safety

• Respond positively to feedback and contribute to continuous improvement in kitchen operations

• Support the kitchen team during peak service periods and special events

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Cook in a professional kitchen environment

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen equipment

• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and health regulations

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during busy service periods

• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively

• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high food quality standards

• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items safely

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to casual work scheduling

• Relevant food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification

• Passion for cooking and a genuine interest in delivering excellent customer experiences
