Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our team in Eagle Farm QLD, on a one-year fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Team Lead – Pipeline Integrity, you will support the integrity management of pipeline assets across their lifecycle. This includes contributing to the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Pipeline Integrity Management and Asset Management frameworks, ensuring assets remain fit for purpose, corrosion risks are effectively controlled, and all activities align with relevant Australian Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support and advice for the integrity management of transmission and distribution pipelines
Review inspection and dig-up results, perform defect assessments, and define repair plans
Ensure pipeline valves, leak surveys, patrols, signage surveys, and depth-of-cover surveys are documented and compliant
Track and review all integrity-related failures and losses of containment
Develop and maintain Pipeline Integrity Management Plans (PIMP) and Fitness for Purpose reports (FFP)
Participate in risk assessments, including Failure Assessments (FA) and Safety Management System Studies (SMSS)
Promote safe, reliable, and compliant operations in line with AGIG’s environmental and social targets
Your background
Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering)
Experience in integrity engineering or asset management for gas transmission or distribution systems is preferred
Experience with intelligent pigging and other pipeline survey techniques
Analytical skills to interpret data and conduct assessments
Knowledge of fracture mechanics and corrosion mechanisms
Knowledge of gas regulations, Australian Standards, and risk management principles
