Vehicle 3D Scanning & Digital Template Specialist

Pro Signs is a well-established Australian signage and vehicle graphics company celebrating 20+ years in business.

We specialise in vehicle wraps, vehicle graphics, signage and PPF, working with businesses, fleets, automotive brands and some seriously interesting vehicles.

We're now looking for someone to join our team and take ownership of an exciting new capability within the business — 3D vehicle scanning and digital vehicle template creation.

This is not your typical graphic design role.

You'll be using professional 3D scanning technology to capture customer vehicles and transform that information into highly accurate vector templates for Adobe Illustrator, giving our design team the ability to create vehicle wraps with greater speed, accuracy and consistency.

What you'll be doing

• 3D scanning customer vehicles using professional scanning equipment

• Capturing accurate vehicle body shapes, panels and dimensions

• Processing and preparing scan data

• Developing accurate vehicle templates from 3D scan information

• Creating clean, practical vector templates for Adobe Illustrator

• Preparing production-ready files for our design and print teams

• Creating panel outlines, measurements, reference points and registration details

• Working closely with our designers, installers and production team

• Building and maintaining Pro Signs' internal library of vehicle templates

• Researching and improving scanning and templating processes

• Troubleshooting technical and design challenges

• Ensuring templates are accurate and suitable for real-world vehicle wrapping

About you

We're looking for someone who is creative, technically minded and obsessed with getting the details right.

You might come from a signage, graphic design, automotive, CAD, 3D modelling or similar background.

You don't need to have extensive 3D scanning experience — we're prepared to train the right person.

What matters most is that you:

• Have strong Adobe Illustrator skills

• Understand vector artwork and production files

• Have excellent attention to detail

• Are confident learning new technology and software

• Have a strong understanding of shapes, measurements and proportions

• Enjoy problem solving

• Are organised and methodical

• Can work independently and manage your own projects

• Have an interest in vehicles, design, technology or customisation

• Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work

Experience we'd love to see

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Vehicle wrapping or vehicle graphics

• Signage production

• Adobe Illustrator

• 3D scanning

• CAD

• 3D modelling

• Automotive design

• Vehicle template creation

• Large-format digital printing

• Prepress / production artwork

The opportunity

We're not looking for someone to simply sit at a computer and trace vehicles all day.

We want someone who can help us build and continually improve the system.

If you have the technical ability to understand how a vehicle becomes a digital template, the creativity to produce clean artwork, and the curiosity to learn new technology, this could be a very interesting role for you.

Salary

$75,000 – $90,000 + super, depending on experience and skill level.

Exceptional candidates with highly relevant experience may be considered above this range.
