Job Description

Atradius Australia is looking for a self-motivated Risk Underwriter to join the Risk Services team in Sydney. This is a great opportunity to join a growing part of the Atradius business and develop your skill set in a customer focused, collaborative environment. The role will include the chance to travel across the Australia, New Zealand region and you will be instrumental in delivering first class customer service to our customers and brokers. From a regional perspective, the role will provide the opportunity to be part of the Asia Pacific Footprint, a growth area for Atradius and a region that is expanding its reach from both a Business Unit and Risk Services perspective. To succeed you will already be able to evidence strong analytical, customer service and communication skills as well as possessing those characteristics that fit soundly within our Atradius Competencies & Values.

In this position your key responsibilities will be:

• Analysing credit risk of SMEs, large enterprises and listed corporations
  across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands for domestic and global clients.
• Responsible for setting appropriate strategies on companies/ groups and to underwrite credit limit decisions.
• Managing a number of trade sectors with the view to becoming an expert in those industries.
• Building relationships with brokers, customers and buyers in the region.
• Presenting detailed review reports to the credit committee on large size cases.
• Assisting in formulating and updating credit rating strategies for the responsible markets

What qualification should you have? The ideal candidate will have the following profile:
  

 Required qualifications:

• University graduate with a bachelor degree or above focusing in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or law;
• Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a relevant field; although we will consider a new graduate.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently;
• Team-player and a good communicator;
• Willingness to work under pressure with strong self-initiative;
• Strong customer focus;
• Excellent writing skills and fluency in English is a must;
• Candidates with good knowledge of the local market and industries in preferred.
