About the Role

Think China is seeking a commercially driven and hands-on Retail Manager to support the Shiseido Travel Retail Oceania business.

The successful candidate will be employed by Think China and dedicated exclusively to the Shiseido Travel Retail Oceania account, supporting a portfolio of world-renowned prestige beauty and fragrance brands including:

• SHISEIDO
• Clé de Peau Beauté
• NARS
• ANESSA
• ISSEY MIYAKE
• Narciso Rodriguez

Based in Sydney, this role acts as the primary liaison between Shiseido Travel Retail Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore and travel retail operators across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Business Management

• Drive retail sales performance and achievement of sales targets across assigned travel retail locations
• Monitor, analyse and report sales performance, identifying risks and growth opportunities
• Develop action plans to improve retail sales performance, category competitiveness and commercial results
• Review customer trends, sales mix and promotional effectiveness to maximise commercial opportunities
• Monitor competitor activities and provide business recommendations
• Prepare regular sales reports, business reviews and retail performance updates

Retail Operations & Store Excellence

• Ensure all counters consistently meet brand standards in merchandising, visual presentation and retail execution
• Monitor stock levels, inventory movements and replenishment requirements
• Coordinate with Marketing, Supply Chain and Education teams to resolve operational issues
• Manage POSM, testers, GWPs, uniforms and retail support materials
• Maintain exceptional standards of retail excellence and brand image across all locations
• Build strong relationships with travel retail operators and airport partners

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management of Beauty Advisors and retail field teams
• Partner with Education teams to identify capability gaps and support training initiatives
• Conduct regular field coaching and provide actionable feedback to improve service excellence and sales performance
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture aligned with brand values
• Support retailer recognition and incentive programs to drive Beauty Advisor engagement and retention

Stakeholder & Project Management

• Act as the key liaison between Shiseido Travel Retail Asia Pacific headquarters and local retail partners
• Collaborate with Marketing and Education teams to execute promotional campaigns, retail activations and events
• Support airport renovation projects, promotional spaces, pop-up activations and other special initiatives
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project execution

Administration & Commercial Support

• Manage purchase orders and retail administration activities
• Coordinate POSM, tester, GWP and uniform ordering and distribution
• Maintain accurate Beauty Advisor and retail operational records
• Support commercial planning, sell-in activities and pricing validation as required

About You

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail, beauty, luxury, FMCG or travel retail industries
• Demonstrated success in driving sales performance across multiple retail locations
• Experience managing frontline retail teams, Beauty Advisors or field sales teams is highly regarded
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Experience working with regional or international stakeholders is highly regarded
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent English required; Mandarin language skills are advantageous
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji

Salary:

AUD 90,000 – 100,000 + Superannuation
