About The Opportunity
We are seeking Human Resource administrators to join our newly formed People Connect team as People and Wellbeing Officers.
Established through a strategic redesign of the People and Wellbeing division, People Connect will play a central role in how employees and leaders access support across the University. Providing high-quality advice and operational support across the employee lifecycle, the team is focused on delivering a connected, consistent and responsive people experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new. As a People & Wellbeing Officer, you will help bring the People Connect vision to life by providing practical HR advice, resolving enquiries and supporting key people processes. Working closely with Business Partners and specialist teams, you will help ensure staff and leaders receive timely, accurate and trusted support.
As the service continues to evolve, you will contribute to improving processes, embracing digital tools and supporting greater use of self-service resources. You will play an important role in helping simplify the way we work while enhancing the experience of employees and leaders across the University.
Success in this role will require someone who enjoys helping people, brings a customer-focused mindset and can confidently balance service, accuracy and efficiency. You will be adaptable, collaborative and motivated by opportunities to learn, improve and contribute to a positive team culture.
What’s Required
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about delivering exceptional service and building positive relationships, including:
Demonstrated experience providing HR advice and/or operational support within a policy, procedural or regulatory environment.Proven ability to interpret policies, procedures and employment conditions and translate them into practical, solutions-focused advice.Experience working in a service-oriented environment, managing enquiries and delivering outcomes through structured workflows or case management systems.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate and timely outcomes in a high-volume environment.Confidence using systems, workflow tools and digital technologies to support efficient service delivery.The ability to exercise judgement, escalate matters appropriately and work collaboratively with Business Partners and specialist teams.A commitment to continuous improvement, service excellence and finding better ways of working.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation. This role is available in Hobart, Burnie or Launceston, fulltime, on either a 6 month fixed term or ongoing basis. You’ll also have access to an array of staff benefits and discounts including:
