Gluten Free Baker

Basket Range Baker

We are a collaboration between our Sourdough Bakery, and our Gluten Free Bakery. We're looking for a dynamic, qualified, experienced baker or pastry chef with some baking experience to join and lead our small team with the Gluten Free Bakery.

Our Gluten Free Baker will lead and manage the gluten free bakery team and production to meet agreed budgets, production and compliance requirements.

This is a hands on production role making gluten free breads, pastries and baked products. The role includes developing recipes, baking, decorating, packing and sometimes delivery. There is some people management required as well as process improvement, maintenance, stock management and client relationships.

You will need to be a minimum Certificate IV in Pastry or Bread with at least 3 years experience in bread or pastry baking. You must be comfortable and excited to learn new methods of baking and to use alternative flours and processes.

Must be:

• Quality focused and passionate about what you bake
• A person who gets your hand's dirty. Comfortable doing all the roles from the mundain but boring like cleaning and deliveries, to the admin, maintenance, baking and managing. This is not a job for someone who only likes to do defined, specific tasks.
• Fast and efficient and always looking for ways to improve
• Flexible and a team player, and able to manage a small team and production facility
• A quick learner and able to work unsupervised
• Able to work wednesday to sunday including 3am starts Saturday and Sunday
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Have a clean driving record and able to drive manual and automatic vehicles including delivery vans on country roads
• On time, all the time!
• Interested in developing and improving processes to make the bakery more efficient
• Customer and client focussed

In line with the management, continuous improvement and production requirements the salary package for this role will be between $80 and $90K pa.

Basket Range is located 20km from the Adelaide CBD. There is no public transport so you will need your own transport.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year

Education:

• Certificate I - IV (Required)

Experience:

• baking: 3 years (Preferred)
• Pastry: 3 years (Required)
• Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Required)
