Join our team as a Gallery Support Officer - Redland Art Gallery
Are you passionate about the visual arts and creating positive experiences for artists, visitors and the community? Redland Art Gallery is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Gallery Support Officer to support the delivery of exhibitions, public programs, events and collection activities across our gallery network.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a varied environment that combines exhibition support, artwork handling, administration, program and event delivery and customer service. Working as part of a small and collaborative team, you will help deliver engaging arts and cultural experiences while supporting the presentation and care of exhibitions and the Redland Art Gallery collection.
With flexible casual hours, you'll have the opportunity to work in a vibrant arts environment, with a roster that includes occasional evenings and weekend work to support gallery programs and events. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the handling, cataloguing, condition reporting, installation and presentation of artworks.
Supporting exhibitions, public programs, events, volunteer activities and collection-related projects.
Providing administrative support, including accurate data entry, record keeping, documentation and spreadsheet maintenance.
Delivering high-quality customer service to artists, volunteers, visitors and other stakeholders.
Assisting with event and activity set up, pack down and day-to-day gallery operations.
Contributing positively to a collaborative and fast-paced team environment.
Skills and experience:
Knowledge of, and a genuine interest in, the visual arts sector.
Experience supporting exhibitions, handling artworks, or assisting with arts, cultural or community events.
Strong administrative skills, including accurate data entry and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
The physical capability to undertake manual tasks associated with packing, unpacking, moving and installing artworks.
A collaborative, organised and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
