• Casual Contract | $53.16 per hour (including casual loading) + 12% super (level 2)
• Museum and Gallery Assistants may be required to work across museums and galleries at Bribie Island, Caboolture, Redcliffe, Strathpine and Whiteside

Our Museum and Galleries team is part of our Cultural Services Department, focused on providing engaging leisure and learning experiences by connecting people to resources and each other. We strive for excellence when delivering exhibitions, information, collections, programs and spaces for our community and visitors.

As a Museum and Gallery Assistant, you will be contributing to routine gallery and museum operations, installing / de-installing our diverse exhibitions and assisting with exciting public programs and events - your duties will be varied!

This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours and will be required to work across all of the following locations:

• Redcliffe Museum
• Pine Rivers Heritage Museum
• Bribie Island Seaside Museum
• Pine Rivers Art Gallery
• Caboolture Regional Art Gallery
• Redcliffe Art Gallery

Hours of Work

• Galleries are open to the public Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
• Museums are open to the public Wednesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 3pm.

In addition to open to the public hours, there can be need to work hours of install as identified for each exhibition (for example, Monday to Friday 8am to 3pm; or 7am – 2pm) as well as the individual requirements of events and programs.

About you

We're seeking passionate candidates with a genuine interest in being a positive member of our Cultural Services team and in providing exceptional service to customers!

Ideal candidates will have well developed skills and experience in exhibition installation / de-installation, be familiar with the operations of a visitor focused cultural facility and have art and object handing experience.

You will hold a current C Class Driver's Licence and a valid QLD Working with Children Blue Card or be eligible / willing to obtain prior to commencement.
