Building Services Coordinator/Engineer – Fit-Out/Refurb

Support the successful delivery of building services packages across high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects, working closely with project teams from tender through to commissioning and handover.
Our client is seeking an experienced Building Services Coordinator to join their NSW construction team, supporting the delivery of building services across a portfolio of high-end commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Working closely with the Building Services Manager and project delivery teams, you will assist with the coordination of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire services throughout all stages of the construction process. From pre-construction and tender support through to commissioning and project completion, you will help ensure services packages are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual, quality and regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical building services experience who is looking to further develop their technical knowledge, coordination capability and long-term career within a structured and supportive construction environment. You will work across multiple concurrent projects, splitting your time between project sites and the office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Services Strategy, Tendering & Pre-Construction Supporting the Services Manager with the review and coordination of building services documentation during tender and pre-construction phasesAssisting with the review and comparison of subcontractor quotations, identifying scope gaps, exclusions and clarificationsCoordinating communication between estimators, project teams, consultants and subcontractors regarding services design and scopeAssisting with design reviews, coordination meetings and value engineering opportunities on Design & Construct projectsSupporting the identification of alternative installation methodologies and buildability improvementsAssisting with the preparation and coordination of services-related tender documentation and submissions
Technical Delivery & Quality ManagementSupporting project teams in coordinating building services works throughout construction and project completionReviewing and coordinating services drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions and approvalsMonitoring services installation activities and assisting with the identification of coordination issues, quality concerns and non-conformancesRecording and tracking defects, observations and actions using Procore or similar construction management systemsAssisting with essential services inspections, testing, certification and compliance documentationSupporting project teams with RFIs, variations and subcontractor queries relating to building servicesAssisting with commissioning activities, testing programmes and project close-out documentationSupporting certification, handover and final completion of building services packages
Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementWorking closely with the Services Manager, Project Managers and Site Teams to support project deliveryLiaising professionally with consultants, subcontractors and client representativesAssisting with identifying sequencing challenges, interface risks and coordination issues throughout constructionMaintaining accurate project documentation, registers and compliance recordsContributing positively to collaborative project outcomes across multiple concurrent projects
Qualifications and Requirements:Degree qualified in Building Services, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline, or trade qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic or Fire Services with relevant industry experienceMinimum 3–5+ years' experience within the construction industry in a contractor, subcontractor or consultancy environmentPractical experience coordinating building services across commercial construction, fit-out or refurbishment projectsStrong understanding of construction documentation, services drawings, specifications and technical submissionsExposure to services installation, sequencing and coordination throughout project deliveryWorking knowledge of Australian building codes, standards and regulatory requirements relating to building servicesExperience using Procore or similar construction management and document control systemsStrong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detailProficiency across the Microsoft Office SuiteConstruction Safety Induction (White Card)
