Boilermaker / Vehicle Body Builder

About the role

J&S Drilling is seeking an experienced boilermaker/vehicle body builder to manufacture and repair drilling rigs, truck tray bodies, and other equipment as required. The ideal candidate should be willing to work remotely and at our primary office-based workshop in Wattleup, WA. 

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, weld and assemble metal structures and components according to engineering drawings and specifications

• Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools and welding equipment

• Study blueprints or specifications and decide which welding methods are best to use

• Construct or repair metal products by joining parts using one of several welding processes

• Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding, cutting, gouging, beveling, grinding, or filing

• Work with minimal supervision

• Assist with day-to-day tasking and housekeeping of the workshop and yard

About you

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role

• Vehicle bodybuilding trade qualification or similar

• Experience in vehicle body building and repair work on all types of equipment machinery

• Good communication skills

• High level attention to detail

• Reliable and able to meet deadlines

• Background in the drilling industry is highly advantageous
