Direct Care Level 3

We are a public company operating a non-profit, public benevolent organisation that owns and operates a large, well established Aged Care Facility serving the Slavic communities in Sydney. Our facility is located in Cabramatta and consists of 182 residential beds and a select few Independent Living Units.  

We cater to the special needs of a range of high care Residents including persons living with Dementia.

We are looking for Direct Care Level 3 staff to support the nursing care to our Residents. This position is casual with a view to PPT after 3 months.

The key duties of this position:

• Assist in the development of an accurate Resident’s assessment

• Assist in the development of an accurate care plan from the Resident assessment

• Assist in the provision and evaluation of Resident care

• Assists Residents with personal care needs:

  • Regularly reading Resident’s care plan (Mini-care plan) to ensure that work practices meet Resident care standards and personal safety requirements

  • Attending to the Resident with care, the care and attention in accordance with the Facility Policy and Procedure Manual, Nursing Care Plans and direction from the MP/Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist/Registered Nurse in charge of shift

• Document provided care to Residents in accordance with St Sergius Policy

• Provide a wide range of personal care services to residents, in accordance with Commonwealth and State Legislative requirements, and in accordance with the resident’s Care Plan, including feeding, dressing, showering, toileting and continence management, grooming, cutting fingernails and providing oral care . 

• Provide companionship to residents and one on one recreational activities.

• Aid residents with mobility and transfers. Maintain infection and control requirements via cleaning residential area and belongings and equipment.  

• Complete Accident/incident/Hazard/ Maintenance forms in accordance with St Sergius Policy

• Participate in Care Conferences with relatives and residents.

• Demonstrate a respect for the rights, dignity, and privacy of Residents and visitors

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Aged Care (or be enrolled). Fluency in the Slavic language/s preferred but not essential.

Able to work on a rotating roster that includes morning/afternoon/night (Monday-Friday)
