Sales Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our retail team at Eltham Lotto. This is a part-time position based in Eltham, Victoria.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, understanding their needs and offering product recommendations

• Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card payments

• Maintain product displays and ensure the store is clean, well-organised and visually appealing

• Answer customer enquiries about products and pricing and store policies

• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary

• Support promotional activities and merchandise displays as directed by management

• Comply with health, safety and security procedures at all times

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates

• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers

• A friendly, cheerful demeanour with a genuine desire to help customers

• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work part-time hours (Monday, Friday and Saturdays) with no late night trading

• Good numeracy skills and comfort using electronic point-of-sale systems

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry stock items, and perform repetitive tasks

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organised store environment

• A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
