About the role
As a Technical Engineer, you will manage an incident queue and remotely support security services for some of Australia's largest businesses. You will investigate causes and manage incidents through to resolution, respecting customer requirements and specifications. The role involves troubleshooting, supporting field engineers, liaising with stakeholders, and occasionally attending sites when remote resolution is not possible.
Key responsibilities
Proactively manage and prioritise both customer- and system-logged alerts, ensuring timely response and resolution of incidents and project tasks.
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and operational issues across Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems. Provide after-hours remote support as required to maintain service continuity.
Support field engineers with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. Attend client sites when remote resolution is not possible, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (project managers, sales, service delivery, technical teams) and external customers, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration throughout the project and incident lifecycle.
Assist sales teams by providing technical expertise during the pre-sales process, helping to scope solutions, answer technical queries, and ensure proposed solutions are feasible, effective, and accurately costed.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and change logs. Ensure all work complies with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in the assessment, testing, and integration of new technologies and products, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the technical solutions portfolio.
Support the onboarding and ongoing training of staff on technical systems, best practices, and safety procedures. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to build overall team capability.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards. Ensure technical solutions are aligned with business requirements and industry best practice.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation. Contribute to initiatives that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
