Expressions of Interest: First Nations Advisory Committee Members - Remote

The McGrath Foundation is seeking Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people to join our First Nations Advisory Committee.
As we continue our commitment to Reconciliation and improving cancer experiences and outcomes for First Nations people, we are looking to strengthen and broaden the diversity of perspectives represented on the Committee.
We particularly encourage expressions of interest from people with diverse lived experiences, communities and geographic locations across Australia, including regional, rural and remote communities. The McGrath Foundation acknowledges and respects Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property and is committed to creating a safe environment where First Nations voices are heard, respected and valued. About the First Nations Advisory Committee
The First Nations Advisory Committee provides guidance to the McGrath Foundation's Executive Leadership Team and RAP Working Group on:Supporting the Foundation to make culturally informed decisionsThe delivery of culturally guided and appropriate cancer nursing care for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander peopleThe implementation of the McGrath Foundation's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)Policies, practices and initiatives that impact First Nations peoples and communitiesThe responsible use and governance of First Nations data and informationThe Committee plays an important role in helping ensure First Nations perspectives inform decisions that affect First Nations people and communities. The Foundation is committed to listening, learning and acting on the advice provided by the Committee.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people who are passionate about creating positive outcomes for First Nations peoples.
You do not need previous Advisory Committee experience to apply.
We welcome expressions of interest from people with experience in areas such as:Community leadershipHealth or healthcare deliveryCancer care and patient advocacyAboriginal Community Controlled OrganisationsEducation and trainingSocial impact and community developmentResearch, data governance or policyReconciliation and cultural capabilityPeople and culture, workforce or organisational developmentMost importantly, we're looking for people who are willing to share their knowledge, perspectives and lived experiences to help shape our work.
What is Involved?
Committee members will:Attend quarterly online committee meetingsReview meeting materials and provide advice and feedbackShare perspectives and insights that help guide the Foundation's workAct as critical friends to support continuous learning and improvementCommittee members will be appointed for an initial two-year term.
Remuneration
Committee members will receive $350 per meeting in recognition of the cultural knowledge, lived experience, expertise and time they contribute.
Additional advisory work outside scheduled meetings may be remunerated separately by agreement.
