Our Tax Radar product is a research and intelligence platform that tracks regulatory and technology change across 100+ jurisdictions, transforming fragmented global developments into structured, actionable insights for product, policy, and delivery teams.

Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, office-based role in Canberra for a Software Developer responsible for maintaining and evolving the Capability Wise Tax Radar platform.
You will design, build, and maintain software capabilities that support large-scale regulatory monitoring, ingestion, normalisation, version control, and user-facing intelligence delivery across web and mobile experiences. The role includes close collaboration with research, product, and compliance stakeholders to ensure Radar remains accurate, reliable, and useful in a fast-changing global policy environment.
You will work across a modern stack consistent with our current developer profile, including AWS serverless services, Node.js, Angular, and complex API/data integrations, with a strong focus on secure, scalable, and maintainable multi-tenant architecture.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, maintain, and optimise regulatory monitoring pipelines across global sources.
Engineer and support data ingestion workflows for structured and semi-structured datasets.
Implement robust rule and version management for regulatory artefacts and change history.
Develop and enhance analytics and alerting capabilities for end users and internal teams.
Design and maintain high-quality web and mobile user experiences for Radar consumers.
Improve data quality, observability, and reliability across ingestion-to-insight workflows.
Contribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, and release practices.
Collaborate with product, research, and domain experts to convert policy signals into technical requirements.
Stay current with international standards and digital compliance trends relevant to Tax Radar.
Strong proficiency in modern software development (Node.js preferred) and front-end delivery (Angular preferred).
Hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB/RDS) and scalable multi-tenant design.
Practical experience integrating APIs and external data services (REST/JSON, GraphQL, and legacy/enterprise protocols where required).
Demonstrated capability in system design, performance optimisation, and secure engineering practices.
Experience building production-grade ingestion/data-processing pipelines.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and communicate technical decisions clearly.
Deep familiarity with international tax and digitalisation reference ecosystems, including: OECD, IMF and ISORA datasets, eInvoicing specifications across European, Asia-Pacific, and South American jurisdictions.
Experience in financial, payroll, regtech, or broader compliance technology domains.
Exposure to ISO 27001-aligned environments and audit-ready SDLC practices.
Experience delivering responsive/mobile-first product interfaces and notification/alert systems.
Familiarity with data modelling and versioning strategies for legal/regulatory artefacts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical industry experience.

Full-time availability in Canberra office.
Strong modern software engineering capability across backend + frontend.
Proven AWS serverless and API integration experience, including relevant certifications.
Capability to own monitoring, ingestion, rule/version management, analytics, and alerts.
Demonstrated ability to engineer user experiences across web and mobile.
Deep domain familiarity with OECD/IMF/ISORA and international eInvoicing specifications.
Prior work in tax, payroll, accounting, or compliance technology.
ISO 27001-aligned engineering experience.
Experience in globally distributed regulatory datasets across multiple jurisdictions.
Strong product thinking and collaboration with policy/research stakeholders.
