About the role
Lease Equity is seeking an experienced Shopping Centre Manager to oversee the strategic and operational management of a sub-regional shopping centre based north of Perth. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maximising asset performance, tenant satisfaction, and revenue generation. As Shopping Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Centre, ensuring optimal performance across property management, leasing and customer experience functions. This role is essential to achieving our company's growth objectives and maintaining the highest standards of centre management in the retail property sector.
Key responsibilities
Oversee all operational and strategic aspects of the shopping centre, including lease administration, tenant relations, and centre maintenance
Manage the Centre's financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, revenue optimisation, and regular financial reporting
Lead and supervise Centre staff and contractors, ensuring high performance standards and effective team collaboration
Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive foot traffic, enhance the tenant mix, and increase overall centre profitability
Handle tenant relations, including lease negotiations, disputes resolution, and ensuring tenant satisfaction and retention
Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and health and safety requirements across the Centre
Oversee Centre maintenance, repairs, and capital projects, ensuring facilities remain in excellent condition
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for Centre enhancement and competitive positioning
Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management and stakeholders
Lead initiatives to improve customer experience, accessibility, and overall Centre appeal
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Shopping Centre Manager or similar property management role in commercial real estate, ideally managing multi-tenanted retail or shopping centre environments. Additionally the following is expected:
Strong knowledge of commercial property management practices, lease administration, and retail operations
Demonstrated expertise in financial management, budgeting, and P&L responsibility for significant assets
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, staff, contractors, and senior management
Strong leadership and team management capabilities with experience supervising and developing staff
Proficiency in property management software systems and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of relevant legislation including health and safety compliance, retail leasing laws, and commercial property regulations
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and manage complex tenant relations
Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency
Tertiary qualification in property management, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred
Real estate or property management certification or membership of a professional body is advantageous
