NDIS Support Worker / Psycho-social Recovery Coach

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities and gives people more choice and control over how, when and where those supports are provided.

Our organisation provides services to people with disability across the Gold Coast region. We are looking for dedicated people to join own team now in a range of roles across the Gold Coast, providing one-to-one home support. Responsibilities will include community access, cleaning/living skills, mentoring, appointments, meal prep, group access and more. Rosters can be flexible to work in with your other commitments, with a variety of shift times available.

The Role - Disability Support Worker:

• Looking for support workers to commit to regular and consistent shift schedules as well as irregular hours, including early mornings/ evenings, overnight, weekends and public holidays.

• Support individuals with intellectual, mental health and/or physical disabilities.

• Must be creative and resourceful to assist customers achieve their goals and build capacity.

• Passionate, empathetic & committed to provide the best care to each individual that encourages self determination

• Delivering high quality person centered support for an ordinary life

• Daily living assistance in the home and the community

• Support physical health and emotional well-being

• Assisting individuals to and from community-based activities and appointments.

• Complete all relevant documentation and reporting as required

Skills and Experience:

• Outstanding interpersonal, communication and resilience skills

• Proven skills and abilities in providing quality support to people with mental illness and/ or disabilities

• demonstrated experience supporting high needs clients - 24/7 support

• Adaptability to work with different individuals including complex and challenging behaviours.

• Able to cope with the physical and mental demands of the job

• a strong sense of professional boundaries

• ability to work as part of team

• Lived Experience of Mental illness, addiction, and disability are an Advantage

Qualifications Required

• NDIS Worker Screening Card (Required)

• COVID Vaccination (Required)

• Driver Licence (Required)

• Blue Card (Required)

• Disability Support Work: 1 - 2 year (Preferred)

• First Aid Certification (Required)

Job Types:  Permanent, Casual

Part-time hours: 20 - 40 per week

Salary: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift

• Rotating roster

• Shift work

Supplemental pay types:

Education:

• High School (Year 9-11) (Preferred)

Experience:

• NDIS: 2 years (Preferred)
