Senior Legal Counsel

The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team. This role is pivotal in providing expert legal advice across a wide range of commercial, corporate, and strategic matters, with a focus on funds management, commercial transactions, governance, and regulatory issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various commercial agreements, supporting fund launches and restructures, and ensuring compliance with financial services regulations. The role also involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders, particularly in the areas of risk and compliance, and the opportunity to mentor a Junior Legal Counsel. Applicants for the Senior Legal Counsel position at the company should ideally have 8-10 years' of post-qualification experience, with a strong background in financial services and funds management. Key skills include the ability to manage legal matters independently, provide commercially focused advice, and have strong stakeholder management experience. The role requires a candidate with a proactive approach, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a proven track record in supervising and mentoring junior legal staff. Experience in managed investment schemes, AFSL obligations, and exposure to DDO, AML/CTF, and privacy matters are highly regarded.
