Hydraulic Fitment Team Leader

Northeast Engineering is expanding and seeking a hands-on Team Leader to run our Final Fitment Hydraulic and Plating Section in Adelaide (on-site, full-time), overseeing the critical stage where premium truck bodies and hydraulic systems come together on OEM truck chassis. This role suits a mechanically strong leader who thrives on problem solving, coaching a team, and delivering high-quality builds, while working on the tools and driving consistent, high-standard outcomes in a growing business

What You’ll Lead

Our Final Fitment team completes the installation and hydraulic integration of:

• Tipper bodies & trailers
• Tilt‑sliders
• Crane trucks
• Hooklifts
• Skiploaders
• Chassis preparation for body mounting

You’ll coordinate workflow, support the team with technical challenges, and ensure every build leaves the workshop safe, compliant, and finished to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and mentoring a small team of fitters and apprentices
• Overseeing mechanical and hydraulic fitment on truck chassis
• Ensuring compliance with ADRs, OEM guidelines, and internal QA standards
• Conducting inspections, testing, and sign‑off
• Driving efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across the section

What You Bring

• Trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, etc.)
• Strong experience with hydraulic systems and truck body fitment
• Proven leadership capability in a workshop or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read drawings and hydraulic schematics
• A commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork

Bonus points for crane/PTO experience, forklift/dogging tickets, or exposure to lean/5S.
