LINK Community & Transport is looking for a Community Transport Driver to help our clients get where they need to go safely, comfortably and with dignity.
This is much more than a driving role. For many of our clients, our drivers are an important and friendly part of their day. You will help people stay connected with their community by providing safe, professional and supportive transport.
About the role
As a LINK Driver, you will be responsible for transporting clients safely and efficiently to their destinations while providing excellent customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
Safely transporting clients in accordance with road laws and LINK procedures
Following scheduled routes and client manifests
Assisting clients to safely enter and exit vehicles
Supporting clients who use mobility aids, including walkers and wheelchairs
Ensuring wheelchairs, mobility aids and safety restraints are correctly secured
Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintaining accurate transport records
Keeping LINK vehicles clean, presentable and refuelled
Reporting vehicle faults or maintenance concerns promptly
Providing friendly, respectful and professional service to clients
Responding appropriately to client enquiries
Reporting incidents, accidents and safety concerns in accordance with LINK procedures
Standard operating hours are Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 7:00pm, with hours determined according to operational requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and understands that providing excellent community transport is about much more than getting someone from A to B.
You will be:
A safe, confident and responsible driver
Reliable and punctual
Patient, respectful and empathetic
A clear and effective communicator
Comfortable working with older people and people with mobility needs
Able to remain calm and professional throughout the day
Familiar with Melbourne roads and confident navigating different locations
Able to follow schedules, routes and instructions accurately
Safety focused with excellent attention to detail
Willing and able to learn new systems and processes
You will also need the physical capability to assist clients with mobility needs, including safely handling mobility aids and providing appropriate assistance when clients enter and exit vehicles.
Essential Requirements
Applicants will need to hold or be willing to maintain the required checks and qualifications, including:
Current and valid Driver Licence - Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence Preferred
Good driving record
National Police Check
Working with Children Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Relevant experience and/or qualifications appropriate to the role
