A Grade Electrician

TLY Electrical is seeking an experienced and motivated A Grade Electrician to join our team on a full-time basis, working across Melbourne.

This is an opportunity to join a growing electrical contractor delivering high-quality projects across solar PV, battery storage and residential construction.

The successful candidate will be a skilled and dependable electrician who takes pride in their workmanship, communicates professionally and is capable of managing electrical works from commencement through to completion.

The role offers a diverse range of work, including solar and battery installations, new homes, renovations, extensions, switchboard upgrades and general residential electrical installations.

• Installation, commissioning, testing and fault-finding of solar PV systems

• Installation and integration of battery energy storage systems

• Electrical installations for new homes, renovations and extensions

• Completing residential rough-ins, fit-offs, testing and commissioning

• Installation, upgrade and modification of switchboards and associated protection equipment

• Installation of lighting, power, appliances, data and electrical infrastructure

• AC and DC electrical works associated with solar and battery installations

• Installation and commissioning of EV charging and energy-management systems

• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, construction plans, specifications and manufacturer documentation

• Electrical testing, fault-finding and rectification works

• Planning and coordinating works to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard

• Liaising professionally with clients, builders, supervisors, suppliers and other trades

• Supervising and providing guidance to apprentices where required

• Completing required electrical documentation and job records

• Ensuring all work complies with applicable Australian Standards, Victorian regulations and manufacturer requirements

• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, site presentation and workplace safety

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence

• Demonstrated experience in residential construction and electrical installation work

• Strong knowledge of residential wiring, switchboards, electrical protection and testing

• Ability to confidently complete rough-in, fit-off, testing and commissioning works

• Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects from start to completion

• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and construction plans

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Professional communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work effectively with builders, clients, apprentices and other trades

• Current Victorian driver's licence

• Ability to work safely at heights where required

• A strong understanding of and commitment to workplace health and safety

Experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:

• Solar PV installation and commissioning

• Battery energy storage systems

• Relevant solar and battery accreditation or training

• New home and high-end residential construction

• Renovations and extensions

• Three-phase electrical installations

• Switchboard upgrades

• EV charger installations

• Inverter and battery commissioning

• Energy-management systems
