About the role
Full-Time Safety Consultant
Safety Alliance WA is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety Consultant to join our growing team on a full-time basis.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting clients across construction, civil works and other high-risk industries. The successful applicant will work directly with clients, managers, supervisors and workers to develop practical safety solutions, improve compliance and build positive workplace safety cultures.
The role will include a combination of office-based work, client-site visits and regional travel when required.
Key Responsibilities
Provide practical WHS advice and support to a range of clients
Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance reviews
Complete WHS gap analyses and assist clients in closing identified gaps
Develop and review WHS management plans, policies and procedures
Prepare and review risk assessments, SWMS, JSA/JHAs and safe operating procedures
Support contractor management and compliance processes
Assist with incident reporting and workplace investigations
Develop corrective actions and monitor their completion
Deliver toolbox meetings, worker consultations, inductions and safety training
Support clients with hazard reporting and risk management
Maintain accurate records and prepare clear, professional reports
Build strong working relationships with clients, workers and other stakeholders
Travel to metropolitan and regional client sites as required
Essential Requirements
Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
Demonstrated WHS experience within construction, civil works or similar high-risk industries
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice and risk management principles
Experience developing and reviewing WHS documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confidence engaging with workers, supervisors, managers and business owners
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities
Strong attention to detail and professional report-writing skills
Competence using Microsoft Office and digital safety systems
Current Australian driver’s licence
Access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle for work-related travel
Highly Regarded
Diploma of Work Health and Safety
ICAM or other incident investigation training
Lead Auditor qualifications
Construction industry experience
Experience with SafetyCulture or similar WHS management platforms
Mental Health First Aid or psychosocial risk management experience

You are practical, approachable and confident working across different workplaces and industries. You understand that effective safety consulting is not about producing paperwork that collects dust—it is about helping people understand risk and implement controls that genuinely work.
You will be comfortable working independently while remaining part of a supportive team. You will also be organised, adaptable and capable of maintaining a professional approach in challenging or fast-moving environments.
