The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Transition to Work Team Leader to lead our Transition to Work team across our Kingston and Huonville Sites.

Transition to Work supports young people aged 15-24 to build confidence and skills, overcome barriers and achieve meaningful goals in employment, education and life.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead and develop your team, drive performance and service quality, and create a positive and accountable team culture.

Working closely with the Transition to Work Manager and teams across Workskills, you’ll oversee day-to-day service delivery, performance, compliance and continuous improvement, ensuring our team delivers high-quality support and great outcomes for young Tasmanians.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

• Lead, coach and support a team of TtW Coaches to deliver high-quality, strengths-based and participant-centred services.
• Create a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.
• Monitor team and individual performance and drive achievement against contractual and organisational KPIs.
• Support staff to understand expectations, identify areas for development and continually improve their practice.
• Ensure service delivery meets Transition to Work contractual, quality, compliance and information security requirements.
• Use performance data and participant feedback to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Work collaboratively with Workskills' employment, activity, quality and operational teams to achieve strong participant outcomes.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with employers, education and training providers, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities affecting young people across Southern Tasmania.

About you

You’re an engaging and capable leader who knows how to bring out the best in people while maintaining a strong focus on performance, quality and outcomes.

You’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience successfully leading a performance-driven team delivering high-quality, client-centred services.
• An understanding of the issues and barriers that can impact young people aged 15–24 and a commitment to strengths-based approaches.
• Strong coaching and people leadership skills, with the ability to set clear expectations and support individual and team development.
• The ability to interpret performance information and data, identify issues and take practical action to achieve results.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence working across a range of digital systems.
• A current Tasmanian driver’s licence and capacity to travel across Southern Tasmania.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Criminal Record Check and a Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People registration.

A Diploma or higher qualification in a field relevant to the delivery of Transition to Work services will be highly regarded.
