About the role

Taylors Lakes Hotel is seeking a talented Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment where culinary excellence meets guest satisfaction. Based in Taylors Lakes, VIC 3038, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. As a casual team member, you will have flexibility whilst contributing your skills and passion to our kitchen operations.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to our menu specifications and culinary standards

• Maintaining food quality, presentation and portion control across all meals

• Following proper food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times

• Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods

• Receiving and storing ingredients, checking quality and managing stock levels

• Operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining a clean and organized workstation

• Responding to special dietary requirements and guest requests with professionalism

• Contributing to menu development and suggesting improvements to dishes

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment 3 Years min

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively

• Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends

• Culinary qualifications or relevant training in food preparation

• Attention to detail and pride in presenting well-finished dishes

• Experience with diverse cuisine types is advantageous

• Current understanding of allergen awareness and dietary requirements is preferred
