About the role
The Aboriginal Family Legal Services (WA) aims to provide free, culturally secure legal support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims and survivors of family violence and/or sexual assault.

We are seeking a Regional Manager to work at our office on Karlkurla Country (Kalgoorlie). The successful applicant will help shape the direction of the Aboriginal Family Law Services in the respective region.

About the role:
The Regional Manager is responsible for the management of all non-legal staff and overall service delivery of their allocated office. They will ensure that the office is meeting all legal reporting requirements, and all service and operational delivery is prepared and executed thoroughly. They will need to have a strong connection to the local community and stakeholder groups and work to lead the general operations of the office.
In addition, the successful applicant with have the managing responsibility for the 3-5 non-legal staff in the office and will be required to oversee internal administration practices. This includes overseeing internal administration systems including client databases including client and referral entries. Managerial duties including probations, appraisals for staff reporting to this role, and the approval of leave and timesheets. They will also be in the position of Workplace Health and Safety representative for that office.
To be considered for this position you need to meet the following criteria:
ESSENTIAL
Demonstrate understanding of what family violence is and/or have experience working in a legal or community organisation that provides support services in relation to family violence.
Managerial experience in the sense of managing staff and using initiative to determine office needs.
Experience with file and diary management
Demonstrate knowledge and connections of the community needs and external stakeholders.
Experience with the coordination of outreach and legal education delivery
Computer literacy across all Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, Excel spreadsheet competency, power point, internet, and email.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.
Ability to travel to remote communities to deliver services.
DESIRABLE
Display strong initiatives in solving day-to-day problems with limited direction.
Display understanding of AFLS legal services family law, care and protection matters, criminal injuries compensation and family violence restraining orders
ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Current ‘C’ Class WA Driver’s License
Current Police Clearance Certificate
Current Working with Children Check
