Engineering Manager

W & E Platt Pty Ltd are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our R&D and Manufacturing Engineering teams. In this role, you will be responsible for driving product innovation, overseeing engineering processes, and ensuring seamless integration between design, development, and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers in both R&D and Manufacturing Engineering.

• Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of new products, ensuring they meet both technical and manufacturing requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth transition from R&D to production.

• Manage the resource allocation for engineering projects, balancing short-term project timelines with long-term strategic objectives.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvements in both R&D and manufacturing Engineering teams.

• Identify and resolve technical challenges during product development and manufacturing stages.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in both R&D and/or manufacturing environments.

• Manage engineering budgets, timelines, and project milestones to meet company objectives.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in engineering management, with at least 3 years leading teams in both R&D and manufacturing engineering environments.

• Experience managing teams of 5-9 people or larger is required.

• Strong background in product development, manufacturing processes, and systems engineering.

• Specific experience in manufacturing and industrial engineering sectors is essential.

• Proven experience in managing teams across multiple functions (R&D, Product Design, Manufacturing).

• Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM).

• Experience with project management, budget oversight, and resource allocation.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing multiple priorities.

• Knowledge of safety protocols, and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing and product development.
