About the role

Club Kilsyth is seeking Qualified Chefs to join our dynamic culinary team on a full-time and casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and passion for food in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Based in Bayswater North, VIC, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and maintaining exceptional standards in our kitchen operations. This role is integral to delivering outstanding dining experiences to our members and guests.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards

• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and presentation at all times

• Managing food preparation stations and ensuring efficient workflow during service periods

• Assisting with menu development and suggesting innovative dishes and ideas

• Monitoring stock levels and reporting on ingredient requirements to management

• Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff where applicable

• Following all food safety protocols and maintaining compliance with health regulations

• Collaborating with the kitchen team to meet service demands and deliver consistent quality

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and workstations

What we're looking for

• Current relevant culinary qualification or formal training in cooking

• Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment

• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

• Excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines during service

• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistently high-quality dishes

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing menu requirements and service styles

• Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one

• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
