Medical Receptionist - Casual

Ranges Medical is a well established private and mixed-billing practice located in the beautiful Macedon Ranges, New Gisborne.

Our sustainably designed, well-equipped practice is home to a friendly and professional team of GPs, nurses and allied health professionals. We are committed to promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention across our community.

We are seeking an experienced and capable Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team on a casual basis, with the opportunity for part-time employment for the right applicant.

About the role

This is a hands-on medical reception role suited to someone who can confidently step into a busy general practice environment and contribute from day one.

You will be available to work flexible shifts, including finishing at 7:30 pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming patients warmly and professionally

• Manage appointments, recalls and patient enquiries

• Processing invoices, Medicare claims, private payments and receipts

• Maintain accurate patient records and confidential information

• Managing incoming calls, correspondence and general reception enquiries

• Supporting the smooth, friendly and efficient daily operations of the practice

• Provide an exceptional standard of patient care in line with the Ranges Medical Mission Statement

• Assist with other administrative duties as required
  

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous medical reception experience within general practice setting

• Confident using Best Practice software

• Experience with AutoMed communications and appointment reminder system

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer-service skills

• Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Outlook

• Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload

• A professional, respectful and confidential approach to patient information

• Flexibility to work casual shifts, including Monday and Thursday evenings

• A current CPR certificate is desirable but not essential
