About us
Respiratory Care WA helps bridge the gap between hospital and community care with personalised education, advice and support for the many Western Australians living with asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Respiratory Care WA is a leading community based respiratory service dedicated to improving the lives of Western Australians living with respiratory conditions. We are expanding our clinical team and are seeking a compassionate, skilled registered nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient centred care.
About the role
As a Respiratory Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting patients with chronic respiratory conditions. You’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, education, treatment support and ongoing management for individuals with asthma and/or COPD.
Your work will directly contribute to better health outcomes, improved quality of life and empowered self-management for our patients.
Key accountabilities
· Conduct respiratory assessments and clinical reviews
· Provide patient education on respiratory conditions, inhaler technique, medication use and self-management strategies.
· Support diagnostic services, including spirometry
· Collaborate with respiratory physicians, allied health professionals and community providers
· Participate in care planning, follow up and ongoing patient support
· Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
· Deliver education and advice to a range of stakeholders.
About You
You are a registered nurse who genuinely cares about people. You bring clinical confidence, curiosity and a desire to grow your expertise in respiratory care.
Essential criteria
· Registered Nurse (AHPRA Registration a must)
· Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
· Ability to support and educate respiratory consumers and/ or a willingness to learn.
· Commitment to patient-centred evidence-based care
· Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
· Ability to make and maintain stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
Desirable
· Experience in respiratory nursing, primary care or chronic disease management
· Spirometry training or willingness to complete training
